Keep tuned here to find out the artist programme for 2021. The line-up this year addresses the issue of gender balance in street art and features some of the best known artists.
A new element to the programme include our Franco-German-Irish mentoring and training programme where experienced artists work with local emerging artists based in the south east of Ireland over a 5 month period to guide them through the process of painting a large scale artwork which will be painted in August. This programme is co funded by the French Embassy of Ireland, the Goethe Institute and Waterford City and County Council.
In 2021, Waterford Walls goes on tour to the county of Waterford as well as to the outer city areas of Ballybeg, Lisduggan and Kilbarry. Have a look here to see which artists are painting walls in these areas.
The festival team are delighted to announce the new Waterford Walls digital arts programme in 2021. In June, sees the launch of MAUA- the augmented reality artwork app, more details coming soon. The team will announce other surprise new digital events in the coming weeks. Our digital arts programme is funded by the Arts Council of Ireland.
